I know random right? Not really, here let me explain what I mean.
So he didn't end up going on until about an 1.5 hrs until after showtime, (by no fault of his own), because there was a flood in the amphitheater. So really there were so many people getting upset, but thanks to the power of social media things we a lot better than what they could be.
I mean when you can go on twitter and there is a hashtag (#) saying what is wrong, it calms the storm. I mean this crowd could've gotten nasty, but it didn't. (Thank God).
So this got me thinking as to how far we have come since I was a kid.
I know when I was in my teeny-bopper stage I would love getting my BOP in the mail and looking through it for hours; reading everything little detail; putting the posters up; and then I would be done until the next month. Seriously, I loved the days I got that in the mail. Something to really look forward to.
But if you can, do you remember the last few pages(not just of BOP, but every magazine) would have the mailing address of everyone you loved, so you could send a letter or whathaveyou to your favourite celebrity, and hope to get something back.
I can say they only time I ever got anything back was from Corey Feldman. Which at the time was awesome.
But now, times have changed. I admit I do follow the people I like on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. I have gotten replies and tweets/retweets from some, which always makes my day.
The world has shrunk with the formation of the internet, and it just keeps getting smaller. So many things have changed, some for the better and some for the worse.
There isn't anymore waiting that month, or not knowing if someone got your mail, it's all about the instant gratification. I don't know if that is good or not. I know sometimes I and many others get tied to the computer, which is why I don't come on as much as I used to. It's a wormhole.
But sometimes too, it's awesome knowing that your "celebrities" are real people and have the same problems/ or share the same interests as you in "real-time".
Sorry for some of the rambling of this post. Hopefully, some of it makes a bit of sense.
But I will leave you with one thing today: Even celebrities need to feel human, try not to spam, care but no stalking, and wish them well. Also this is the most important, don't let life slip you by trying to get a retweet. Life is worth getting out and living, then you have something to share.
Love ya guys,
Till next time,
Lana
